ABOUT

Studio Offbeats was founded in fall 2023 by Viennese artist and curator Alexander Felch. The space is located in the attic of a municipal building in the seventh district and is designated as commercial space or studio/atelier.

Since October 2023, regular events in the fields of visual arts, performance, literature, and sound art have been held as part of the Studio Offbeats series.
The supporting association Offbeat - Verein zur Förderung von Gegenwartskunst und Zukunftsmusik (Association for the Promotion of Contemporary Art and Sound of the Future) has been in existence since April 2025 and is dedicated to the production and depiction of contemporary art. In addition to the regular events in the Studio Offbeats series, new formats for art development, decentralized cultural events (Dimensions Variable# et al.), and progressive forms of cultural events and displays are being developed and produced.
The Studio Offbeats event series presents colleagues who show drafts and concepts of their artistic work in different stages of the creative process and open them up for discussion. Participating artists are offered a “safe space” where they can try out and discuss works before presenting them in an institutional context.
