SONGS OF ALGORITHM
Georg Eckmayr
Curated by Christoph Höschele
„The work gestures - songs of algorithm is a digital structure of audio-visuals which can be instantiated in various physical forms.
It is a modular, scale-able, site-specific networked sculpture for spatial settings of any scale and duration; from private digital space to larger scale white-cube settings. Due to the modular approach these works can be combined in various ways and form an adaptive networked sculpture.“
Georg Eckmayr is a time-based artist embracing fragmentation and an artistic researcher. He studied digital art at the class of Peter Weibel under whose supervision he also completed and defended his doctoral thesis on the political potential of digital images.
His art materializes in installations in physical spaces, blockchain environments, and other coded structures, often incorporating scientific approaches. He participates internationally in workshops, conferences (MUMOK Vienna, MAH RE:SOURCE 2023), exhibitions (Saatchi Gallery, Liu Haisu Art Museum, Gallery 5020), and publishes papers and articles as a researcher (VWH Publishing, Wroclaw University Press [in review]).
